Cooking on a Baking Sheet

On our cooking instructions for Dream Dinners that are made in foil pans we recommend that you bake in the oven on a baking sheet.  I often get asked why and what kind of baking sheet to use.  Here is the scoop:

Why?  Safety.  Those foil pans can bend when removing the dinner from the oven and typically are full and heavy.  The last thing you need just before serving dinner is to have one buckle and spill your hot dinner on you, your oven door and the kitchen floor.

What Kind of Baking Sheet?  Please use a baking sheet/cookie sheet with a lip or min. 1 inch edge.  Just as easily as a pan of hot dinner spilling could be a dinner slipping off the edge of a flat sheet.  Just ask my friend http://www.laurachristianson.com

No Baking Sheet needed if you take the foil off the pan when the dinner is still frozen and place in a non stick sprayed glass 9 x 13 baking dish.  As it thaws it will look like you made it right in your own dish and will bake wonderfully and be stronger than the foil pans.

You dont have to pay extra for the pans, they come with the dinner. The baking sheet is just for safety. Enjoy!
